QuickStart Tennis For Kids
Are you good with kids, fun-loving and reliable, or know someone who is?
Prescott Area Tennis Association and Kids & Company are working to offer QuickStart tennis as part of their after-school and summer session programs in the Prescott elementary schools. Our goal is to introduce tennis concepts to grade schoolers ages 5-10, who will be provided a fun and healthy sports activity.
QuickStart is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring tailored to age and size. We're looking for someone energetic, fun-loving, and reliable who can commit to 1 1/2 hours twice a week. This includes 1 hour for the class and 1/2 hour for set-up. Classes will be held at Prescott elementary schools. All equipment, along with volunteer assistants will be provided to you. No special skills are necessary, and training is provided. Pay is $15 per hour.

Need to Know
- The Yavapai County Tennis Tournament, hosted by PATA, will be October 1 - 3, 2010. Get in on the fun by registering early with our online application form.
- Quick Start Tennis April 23, and 24 at the Armory from 10-11am. $10.00 per session.
Junior, seniors, families, beginner, intermediate tennis lessons at the Armory with Cathy Low and Taylor Harris. $20.00 private, $10.00 drills per hour.
Prescott Valley beginner and intermediate tennis, May sessions, Tuesday and Thursday eveings, 5-6 and 6-7pm. Call Prescott Valley park and rec. 590-3090. - Upcoming one day or weekend events:
- August 22nd. PATA presents "Back to School doubles.". 12 Noon - 4PM. Call Chris Howard at 445-1331 for additional information.
- August 14th. The Prescott Racquet Club will host a Grand Prix Dopubles. Contact the club at 778-0708 for further information.
- The next PATA meeting is Friday, July 30th. at 1P.M. We will meet in the back room of the Office restaurant. Come early and have lunch with us. The meeting is open to anyone that has an interest to attend.
- Prescott Area Tennis Association wants you as a member. No dues. Join Us and get on the player's list.
PATA MISSION
PATA is a volunteer organization, created for the love of tennis. We promote and advance tennis activities
throughout the Central Granite Basin communities of Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Prescott, and Prescott
Valley. This is accomplished through a working environment within the organization that increases the
value of tennis as a highly enjoyable lifetime sport.
ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS
PATA accomplishes the mission through the following organizational goals:
- Sponsor tournaments and tennis activities.
- Publicize area tennis events.
- Improve tennis skills for all players.
- Maintain players and events list on this web site.
