Local Players' Activities

This section is dedicated to acknowledging local players who have contributed their time, efforts, and expertise toward events that are held to promote the sport of tennis.

Local Players Do Well in Fiesta Bowl Tournament

Many of our local players competed in the Fiesta Bowl Tournament held December 7 - 11 in Scottsdale. This tournament draws over 350 top competitors nationally, making it tough to get past the first round. The following players from our area did very well in the events they played.

• Fay Matsumoto    won 1st Place in Women's 60 Singles
• Dick McGaw    won 1st place with his partner in Men's 70 Doubles
• Jenny & Miguel Phelps    made it to the semi-finals in Mixed 45 Doubles
• Chris Howard & Beth Kaper    were finalists in Mixed 45 Doubles
