Update on New Roughrider Community Tennis Center
Yavapai College has committed to building a 7th court based on current contribution
amounts raised from fundraising efforts. Read

PATA is holding a Color the Courts raffle. The winner will be awarded the honor of
choosing the colors for the new Roughrider Community Tennis Center courts.
Tickets are $25 each; 5 for $100; or 11 for $200.
- At the Yavapai County Championships tournament Oct 4 -6 at Roughrider tennis courts
- From any member of the Fundraising Steering Committee

All funds from raffle will be applied toward building the new Roughrider tennis courts.
Drawing will be held April 5, 2014. The winner will be announced on the PATA website and in the Daily
Courier, and will work with the Tennis Project Design Team to choose the colors.
Local Players' Activities
Congratulations to several of our local teams who were able to qualify for the Southwest Section Championships
that took place over spring and summer months.
Teams that qualified were Adult Women 3.5 with Diane Bock as captain,
two Adult Mixed Doubles teams, both captained by Liz Murrieta, Senior Women 4.0 with Nancy Lefler as
captain, and Senior Men 3.5 with Rick Merring as captain.
A huge THANK YOU to the captains who spent many hours organizing matches and providing opportunities for
players to compete against the best in each division.
Seven of our local junior players are going to Nationals in South Carolina Oct 24-27, 2013.
Congratulations to Nick Marroquin, Dakota Weldon, Keldy Mason, Ellie Foreste, Analise Cavner,
Kirsi Eby, and Kennedi Todd.
These players will be holding a series of fundraisers to help cover the cost of attending
